Course End User Steps

Course records in Training Management can contain any prepared training, such as classroom training, online training or any self-training programs such as a WBT (web-based training), CBT (computer-based training) and videos.

Course Content Options

Customers who use Training Management have used the Course record in many different ways. Consider the following configuration suggestions to fit your implementation business needs. Keep in mind that as you continue to use the Training Management system, you may implement different options to manage your courses:

Content Format System Configurations

Course linked to external content

The course owner can create a Course record in Training Management and then link external learning content to the Course record, such as e-learning content, online training content, videos, and online exams. The course is then set up as a self train course where the Person can launch the course content from their Work Space and complete the course online. Once the course is fulfilled, based on the systems fulfillment requirements, the Person will receive credit for completing the course requirement from a training coordinator.

Course linked to external content through a SCORM adapter

If you are using Training Management with our SCORM adapter, the course owner can create a Course record in Training Management and link learning content, that is SCORM compliant, to the Course record through a zipped file, such as e-learning content, online training content, videos, and online exams. The course is then set up as a self train course where the Person can launch the course content from their Work Space and complete the course online. Once the course is fulfilled, based on the systems fulfillment requirements, the Person will receive credit for completing the course requirement.

NOTE: This option will decrease administrative costs associated with having to manually certify employees on self train courses that contain external content.

Course linked to a Document record

If formal classroom training is required for a document, the course owner can create a Course record in Training Management and link documents to that Course record. The Person will receive credit for completing the course/document requirement through a training session.
